Springlike weather has left Atlanta as cooler temperatures enter the metro area.

Earlier, a cold front ushered in showers in parts of Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Paulding counties, Channel 2 Action News Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Currently, it’s 58 degrees in Atlanta.

The city reached a high of 75. (The Feb. 16th record high of 78 degrees was set in 1995.)

Parts of the metro area, including Eatonton,  reached 80.

“We will see cooler lows (Saturday) morning,” Burns said, “but temperatures will still be 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year.”

A trend of warmer-than-average weather will continue through the next 90 days, Channel 2 reported.

Atlanta should wake up to temperatures in the 50s Saturday before climbing to a high of 68, Burns said.

There is a 60 percent chance of rain, Channel 2 reported. That decreases to 40 percent Sunday with a high of 65.

Temperatures should return to the 70s Monday and stay there through the week.

Showers are expected to last into next week.
