Shawn L. Jones, deputy chief of the Atlanta Police Department, will speak at the Buckhead Business Association weekly breakfast on Thursday, Aug. 16. The event will be held at the City Club of Buckhead, 3343 Peachtree Rd. Before being appointed to his current position in January 2010, Jones commanded the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport police precinct, where he managed a $16.9 million budget and 153 employees including a K-9 unit and explosive ordinance disposal unit. He also worked as an assistant zone commander in northwest Atlanta and at the Atlanta Police Academy, where he oversaw new basic mandate physical fitness standards and driver simulation training.
