Atlanta's City Council voted Monday, April 16 to approve nearly $27,000 in claims against the city for automobile accidents, flooding and damage from driving over tree roots or water service lines. The seven claims with favorable recommendations listed on the April 16 agenda ranged from $850 from driving over a water service line to $10,000 to pay for flooding damage at a property near Toomer Elementary School. One automobile accident on June 1, 2011 cost the city nearly $6,500, and another crash five days later cost $6,000.
