Atlanta City Councilman Michael Julian Bond was involved in a traffic accident on Thursday, Nov. 3 along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, but was not cited for any traffic violations.

A Jeep driven by Bond struck Benjamin Cox, who was riding a bicycle, at about 8:51 p.m. after Cox swerved into Bond's lane, according to a police report. Cox was cited for not following the rules of the roadway, and was recovering at Grady Hospital last week.

Bond said his "thoughts and prayers" were with Cox and his family.
