The Atlanta Air Show, which has been held the past three years in Henry County, will move to a neighboring community in 2020.

Organizers with the event say it will be held at Peachtree City’s Falcon Field in Fayette County. The show also is moving from the summer to the spring, May 16-17.

The change will allow “for a more traditional event site with static aircraft on display,” the organizers said. Spectators also will be able to view all the flight activities such as takeoffs and landings at the new site, they said.

“We’re really excited about the move to Falcon Field in Peachtree City,” Bryan Lilley, chairman of the Atlanta Air Show, said in a statement. “It is a fantastic venue that will be very spectator friendly and allow us to have as many cool aircraft on display on the ground as we do flying in the air.”

The news comes more than a month after a pilot ejected from a plane during this year's air show at Tara Field in Henry County. The pilot made it safely to the ground and the plane crashed in a field in southern Fayette County.

There was no damage to homes or structures and nobody on the ground was injured.

Tickets for next year's show will go on sale at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at which time the headline act will be announced. For information, visit https://airshowatlanta.com.
