Four car burglary suspects led Douglas County deputies on a short chase early Monday. But deputies used “stop sticks” to bring the chase to a halt, causing the suspects’ vehicle to ignite, according to police.

The chase ended shortly before 5 a.m. and temporarily blocked Mt. Vernon Road near Silver Creek Drive, near Douglasville. No one was injured when the suspects’ vehicle crashed, Lt. Glenn Daniel with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Three people were arrested at the scene of the crash, Daniel said. A fourth person ran from the area, but was located with the help of a police dog and arrested, Daniel said. The suspects’ names and charges were not released late Monday morning.
