Appointments, fees approved by Henry County commissioners
Qualifying fees are set for 2020 elections in Henry County.
The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Jan. 21 regular meeting to reappoint county clerk Stephanie Braun, as the county code requires at the beginning of each year. Also filled was an open spot on the Library Board, with Anne Franklin tapped to fill an unexpired term that will end Dec. 31 of this year.
The commissioners voted to set the qualifying fees for 2020 elected county offices, which state law requires before Feb. 1 in a year that includes a general primary, nonpartisan election or general election. Each qualifying fee is equal to three precent of the base salary for that elected position.
