The Alpharetta City Council has approved more than $1.5 million in street and sidewalk improvements.
The Council voted this week to commit $1.2 million for the design and construction of a roundabout at Douglas Road, South Lake Drive, and Leeward Walk. Construction will include sidewalks, curb and gutter, storm drainage, retaining walls, milling, resurfacing and replacing the Douglas Road bridge over Caney Creek with a new structure to accommodate pedestrians.
The city will also spend $325,000 for road work and sidewalks along Devore Road from Haynes Bridge Road to Ga. 9. That work will include 8-foot sidewalks, landscaping, street milling and resurfacing.
