More than 200 cats and dogs (plus a horse and a pig) have asked Santa for a new home for Christmas. Gwinnett County Animal Shelter just made that a little easier, waiving all adoption fees for the remainder of 2018.

The shelter will allow you to take home a pet at no cost through New Year’s Eve. The shelter has 206 animals currently in its care, with puppies and kittens, senior dogs and cats, and the two barn animals all looking for forever families.

All animals are spayed or neutered before they go home with their new owner. They also receive a medical exam, vaccinations and a microchip.

The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. It is located at 884 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville.
