Avita Community Partners will open a 16-bed crisis stabilization unit in Flowery Branch Friday that will serve all of Georgia. The center will provide short-term residential psychiatric care and substance abuse detoxification for adults. Located at 4331 Thurmond Tanner Parkway, the facility will employ approximately 25 staff members. Avita was formed by the 1993 Georgia Legislature to serve persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases.
