One of Fulton County's 20 early voting stations closed Thursday.

The Adams Park Library on Campbellton Road closed due to a plumbing issue and will remain closed on Friday, the last day of early voting, elections spokeswoman April Majors said. Voters are being directed to go to Adams Park Recreation Center, located at 1620 Delowe Dr. SW in Atlanta. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

More than 500 people voted at the library, which is not an Election Day precinct, on Wednesday.

Since early voting began in mid-October, 5,827 ballots (about 3 percent) of the more than 180,000 ballots cast at Fulton locations were done at Adams Park Library, Fulton records show.

A similar issue happened during the primary elections in May, when the Buckhead Library unexpectedly closed on the last day of early voting due to maintenance issues. It also closed the week prior due to an emergency sewer repair.

The midterm election takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The ballot includes candidates for governor — Democrat Stacey Abrams, Republican Brian Kemp and Libertarian Ted Metz running to replace Republican Nathan Deal — in addition to other state offices, the Georgia legislature, congresssional races and a list of local offices, mostly on the county level.
