About 40 Ku Klux Klan members protested illegal immigration, homosexuality, the president and other issues Saturday afternoon in Ellijay, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.

The KKK demonstration was held in the back parking lot of the Gilmer County Courthouse in north Georgia, the newspaper reported. Several hundred onlookers watched from across the street, and law enforcement limited interaction between the two groups.

At least 100 law enforcement officers were present, Gilmer County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Frank Copeland told the newspaper.

Some of the onlookers carried signs protesting the KKK demonstration, according to the report. No major incidents were reported.
