A reward totaling $14,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for shooting a woman eight times last week, Sandy Springs police announced Thursday.
Gov. Nathan Deal signed an executive order offering a $10,000 reward in the shooting of Adina Parson, an attorney with the Georgia Department of Public Health, the GBI said Thursday.
Crime Stoppers Atlanta and Friends of Adina Parsons are offering $4,500.
Parson, 40, was shot eight times, including three times in the head, at the Residences at Morgan Falls apartment complex on Jefferson Drive in Sandy Springs last Friday around 11:35 p.m. as she left to pick up her husband, police said.
The woman remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital, the GBI said.
Authorities do not have any solid leads in the case, according to the executive order signed Wednesday.
Under Georgia law, the governor is authorized to offer a reward in a felony case in the state.
The reward is for information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the person or people responsible for shooting Parson.
Anyone with information on the case should call the Sandy Springs Police Department at 770-551-6900 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
