Authorities have reopened I-285 near Cascade Road after a death investigation.
The state Department of Transportation closed the two left lanes of I-285 southbound south of Cascade Road around 11 a.m. The road reopened around 12:40 p.m.
The body of a 47-year-old woman was found early Wednesday in the left lane of the interstate. Fulton County police believe that the woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver, then run over by other vehicles.
The woman was carrying no identification, but the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said early Friday that she had been identified through fingerprint records. Her name was being withheld until relatives could be notified.
