With so many contenders in the 2017 Atlanta mayoral race, a fair amount of City Council seats turned over to new representatives. See who's returning to the Council get to know the new members and see who was replaced, all listed below.
MEET THE NEW COUNCIL PRESIDENT: FELICIA A. MOORE
Moore, a real estate broker and resident of northwest Atlanta's Collier Heights neighborhood, was elected to the City Council in 1997. Prior to becoming Council President, Moore represented District 9. She has a Bachelor's degree in communications from Central State University in Ohio and a Master of Science in Administration degree from Central Michigan University. She replaces Ceasar C. Mitchell, who ran for Atlanta mayor in 2017, as Council President.
MEET THE NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS
Farohki is Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Briteweb and a resident of downtown Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. He is among the new Council members elected in 2017, replacing former Atlanta mayoral candidate Kwanza Hall.

Ide, a first-term City Council member, has taught elementary school and has practiced law. She replaces Alex Wan, who unsuccessfully ran for City Council President in 2017.

A first-term City Council member , Matzigkeit is CFO of Wahoo Fitness and co-founded the Chastain Park Conservancy. He replaces Yolanda Aldrean, who chose not to run for re-election in 2017.

First-term Council member Hillis is a critical care registered nurse at Emory University Hospital. He replaces Felicia Moore, who is now Atlanta City Council President.

ANDREA L. BOONE -- DISTRICT 10
Boone, the daughter of the late civil rights leader Rev. Joseph E. Boone, served as the City of Atlanta Commissioner in the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services. A first-term Council member, she replaces longtime Councilman C.T. Moore, who was elected to the Council in 1990.

MARCI COLLIER OVERSTREET -- DISTRICT 11
Overstreet is the founder and CEO of Mommy Knows Best, LLC, and is a Delta Air Lines retiree. A first-term Council member, she replaces Keisha Lance Bottoms, who is Atlanta's new mayor.

MATT WESTMORELAND -- POST 2 AT-LARGE
Westmoreland is among the first-term Council members, replacing former Atlanta mayoral candidate Mary Norwood in Post 2 At-Large. At-Large Council members serve all citizens in all districts. He formerly served as the Atlanta Public Schools Board of Education’s District 3 representative.

Smith, a resident of southeast Atlanta's Woodland Hills neighborhood, has served four terms on the City Council.

IVORY LEE YOUNG, JR. -- DISTRICT 3
Young is the former Vice-President of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects and a resident of Atlanta's Vine City neighborhood. He has served four terms on the City Council.

Winslow served as housing director for the Atlanta Urban League and has served on the City Council since 1994.

NATALYN ARCHIBONG -- DISTRICT 5
An attorney in private practice, Archibong formerly served as executive director of the DeKalb Initiative for Children and Families and has served on the City Council for four terms.

Shook is a five-term City Council member and has served on the Atlanta Budget Commission and chaired the Buckhead Neighborhood Alliance.

Sheperd is an Avaya Communications retiree and a four-term Council member.

MICHAEL JULIAN BOND -- POST 1 AT-LARGE
Bond, the son of the late civil rights leader Julian Bond, was elected to the Post 1 At-Large seat in Nov. 2009. At-Large Council members serve all citizens in all districts. He formerly served as Deputy Director and Chief Programs Officer for the Atlanta branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Bond represented District 3 from 1994-2001.

ANDRE DICKENS -- POST 3 AT-LARGE
Dickens, who is the Council's President Pro Tem, has held the Post 3 At-Large seat since 2013. At-Large Council members serve all citizens in all districts. He co-founded City Living Home Furnishings and is the Georgia Community Leader for a nonprofit, TechBridge.
