Proposals would expand gun rights in Georgia

A handful of bills that would extend gun rights have been introduced in the Georgia House of Representatives.

One, House Bill 58 sponsored by Social Circle Republican Doug Holt, would allow retired judges to carry guns.

House Bills 54 and 55 would allow guns in churches and other places of worship and on college campuses, respectively. Both are sponsored by Rep. Bobby Franklin, R-Marietta.

The bills are expected to be assigned to committees in the next week.
