Summer vacation season is around the corner, and most Metro Atlanta residents planning for international travel will need a valid passport.

Processing facilities that are not usually open on weekends have partnered with the U.S. Department of State to offer occasional Saturday hours, known as Passport Days.

DeKalb County Superior Court Clerk Debra DeBerry is hosting one on May 18 after a similar event was successful in March.

DeBerry’s office at the DeKalb Courthouse will open from 8 a.m. to noon that Saturday. Both regular and expedited processing services will be offered, and appointments are not required.

Regular hours for passport applications at the courthouse are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Other agencies across Metro Atlanta also offer these services with varying days and hours of operation.

For more information about the DeKalb Clerk's Passport Day and procedures, visit the website.

To locate other passport processing facilities, use the State Department's search feature.
