Now hiring: DeKalb County police

Want to become a police officer? The DeKalb County Police Department is accepting applications.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens who are at least 20 years old and have a high school diploma or GED certificate. They must not have any felony or domestic violence convictions on their records.

Police officer salaries begin at $38,151, with higher starting pay available for those with four-year degrees or for certified officers with at least two years' experience.

Accepted candidates will participate in a police academy class planned for December.

Those interested may apply in the "job opportunities" section on the county website at dekalbcountyga.gov.
