Memphis firm buys Snellville’s Allgood Plumbing

A Tennessee firm has purchased Snellville-based Allgood Plumbing, Electric, Heating & Cooling.

American Residential Services of Memphis announced Monday it has acquired the assets of the Snellville HVAC company, founded in 2005.

In a prepared statement, Melvin Music, head of the family-owned Allgood, said American Residential Services (ARS) “shares our core values of delivering exceptional customer service. We are thrilled to be joining the ARS/Rescue Rooter Network and are looking forward to the opportunities for growth and serving even more customers in the greater Atlanta area.”

David Slott, president and chief operating officer of ARS, cited Allgood’s “talented management team and dedicated employees.

“Allgood’s reputation in the marketplace is exceptional, and it is a perfect fit with ARS’ vision of delivering a best-in-class customer experience,” Slott said.

It’s the second recent announcement involving a local heating and cooling company. In March Atlanta-based Coolray and its sister brand Mr. Plumber announced they are forming a new company – The Wrench Group – with three other HVAC firms: Berkeys in Dallas, Abacus in Houston and Parker and Sons in Phoenix. The companies had combined sales of more than $150 million in 2015.

Coolray said the firms hope to improve leverage by acquiring competitors in major metro markets while increasing the Wrench Group’s market share in areas where it already operates.
