An digital billboard has been removed after the city of Dunwoody won a lawsuit over the sign.

Dunwoody's government argued that the billboard at the intersection of I-285 and North Peachtree Road didn't comply with a judge's 2008 order that signs had to remain "as presently constructed." The city later adopted a ordinance prohibiting LED signs and issued a citation to the owner of the billboard, Olympus Media.

The Georgia Supreme Court declined to intervene in March after the Georgia Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the city in November.

“We are pleased with the court’s ruling,” said Dunwoody Mayor Denis Shortal in a statement Friday. “Our goal is to protect the interests of our residents. Large LED billboards, located anywhere within our city, do not reflect the character of Dunwoody nor the wishes of our citizens.”
