The Cobb County Board of Education will decide at its next meeting whether to purchase a $5.9 million property for Cobb Horizon High School.

The new building is located near the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Terrell Mill Road. It stands five stories tall and is more than 90,000 square feet.

If the plan is approved, Horizon would welcome students at the new location in August 2020.

In a statement, the school board said the current Horizon building could be torn down and replaced with a new middle school that could open as soon as August 2021.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m.
