David Hankerson, Cobb County’s manager since 1993, signed a new contract in November that gives him an additional three years to run county operations — through 2017.

The contract keeps in place all elements from Hankerson’s last contract renewal in 2011. He makes $246,923 a year and is provided with a $7,200 annual travel allowance. He is not provided with a county car.

Last year, Hankerson was a one of three finalists for the county manager job in Fulton County, but withdrew his name after that became public.
