Cobb County will host an open house on the new Atlanta Braves stadium in mid-December.

The event is part of an "ongoing effort to keep residents informed on the progress of SunTrust Park," according to a press release earlier this week.

The open house will be held on Monday, Dec. 7  from 4-7 p.m. on the second floor of 100 Cherokee St. in Marietta.

Cobb County says there will be no formal presentation.

There will also be no elected officials present, only some staff members on hand "to share information and answer questions."

SunTrust Park and the $450 million mixed-use development adjacent to the stadium is scheduled to open in 2017.
