New changes from Facebook may mean less news from us in your Facebook feed.
The social media platform announced last Wednesday that it planned to make changes to its news feed algorithm to promote more of the content posted by your friends and family.
This may mean you'll be seeing less and less news content from publishers like The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, including the latest from our major Facebook pages:
- AJC
- AJCaccess ATL
- County Pages: Cobb, DeKalb, Gwinnett, North Fulton
- Georgia Politics News Now
- MyAJC
Don't want to miss a beat from the AJC on Facebook? Here's what you should do to see our latest news stories on your news feed:
On your mobile phone or tablet?
1. Go to one of the AJC's Facebook pages.
2. Make sure you've "Liked" the page.
3. Under the cover photo, look for the word "Follow," "Following" or "See First."
4. Click on the arrow and choose "See First" to find new posts from the page at the top of your news feed.
On your desktop?
1. Go to one of the AJC's Facebook pages.
2. Make sure you've "Liked" the page.
3. Under the cover photo, look for the word "Liked" for the drop-down menu.
4. Under the drop-down menu, make sure "See First" is checked off.
5. Want to be notified for specific types of posts from the page? Facebook says you won't see more than five notifications a day.
Click on the pencil icon next to "In Your News Feed." Then, curate your notifications to your preferences.
This can be done for any Facebook page you'd like to receive updates from.
