A Gwinnett County man is in federal custody after allegedly threatening violence against local FBI agents.

Lilburn resident Maksim Mikhaiov Pikulev entered a not guilty plea in federal court Tuesday after being detained earlier in the week, Channel 2 Action News reported. Pikulev allegedly called FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., and threatened to inflict violence on agents at the Atlanta field office.

His indictment also alleges that he claimed two men obtained a bomb from him and were going to detonate it at a local store, Channel 2 reported.

A bond hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning, Channel 2 said.

Online records showed Pikulev was released from the Gwinnett County jail less than two weeks ago. He had been incarcerated since February on a failure to appear charge.
