Idalia downgraded to a tropical storm

Idalia has been downgraded to a tropical storm, the National Weather Service said Wednesday afternoon.

But the risk of damage continued as the storm continued to move up the coast of Georgia and into the Carolinas. Idalia is moving toward the northeast at a speed of about 21 mph, the NWS said.
