PHOTOS: Slain Paulding County deputy honored

Paulding County Deputy Brandon Cunningham wanted to serve his Georgia community. He lost his life trying to do just that.

Paulding County Deputy Brandon Cunningham was killed in the line of duty Saturday. He was 30.

Cunningham, 30, had been with the Paulding sheriff’s office for just over four years and was the father of two.

“(Cunningham) was a great guy. He was always smiling. A good man taken way too soon,” Henson said.

“We love him,” Tom Bohnn said. “What more can you ask of a man to give his life for his brother, and he did.”

"We’ve lost a hero,” Paulding Sheriff Gary Gulledge said on August 18. “I ask this community, as you always do, to join behind us, stand beside us, and hold us up. This is going to be a tough time for all of us and all of our guys.”
