A Georgia community is mourning the loss of a veteran firefighter who died on the job.

Capt. Keith Obrian Williams, 54, passed away while on duty Saturday, according to a post on the Camilla Fire Department’s Facebook page.

Williams was a lifelong resident of Camilla and had served as a firefighter for more than 32 years, according to the department.

Williams was found unresponsive by fellow firefighters, who tried lifesaving measures, the department said.

Funeral arrangements are pending, according to the department.

The veteran firefighter is survived by his mother and five adult children.

Community members offered their condolences on the department’s Facebook page.

“I just spoke to him yesterday...” one poster wrote. “I’m just in shock. Praying for his friends, family and co-workers.”

“So sad to hear this!” another added. “Such a wonderful man. He will truly be missed!”
