GBI, local police investigating suspicious deaths in suburban Athens

Feb 17, 2020Local police and the GBI are investigating two suspicious deaths in Oglethorpe County near Athens.
According to the local sheriff’s office, two bodies were found in a home in the Oglethorpe’s eastern portion.
“The deaths do not appear to be natural,” the department said in a Facebook post.
The names are not being released until the family is notified.
“Based on the preliminary findings there is no current threat to public safety or the well being of the good citizens of Oglethorpe,” the department said.
