Several busy roads in Dunwoody were been shut down Monday evening due to what officials called a “major gas leak.”

The gas leak was located at the intersection of Ashford Dunwoody Road and Meadow Lane, according to the City of Dunwoody’s social media. The intersection is surrounded by shopping centers, office buildings and apartments. The gas leak was capped and all roads were reopened around 8 p.m., with the exception of one lane of Meadow Lane where crews continued their repair work.

Multiple roads were blocked along Ashford Dunwoody Road, the city said, including Perimeter Center North and Ashwood Parkway. On Meadow Lane, the intersection with Perimeter Center Place was blocked, as was the entrance to the Walmart parking lot.

The road blockages were put in place since about 6:30 p.m. and cleared after nearly two hours.
