A downtown Atlanta restaurant that closed for weeks after it was damaged during protests in May was vandalized again.

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks, located at 57 Forsyth St., closed for two weeks after the restaurant’s front window was smashed during nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd.

The window was smashed again Sunday night, prompting an investigation by the Atlanta Police Department. The damage to Big Dave’s was an isolated incident, police spokesman Officer Steve Avery told AJC.com. No arrests have been made in the case, he said.

Big Dave’s remains open for business, according to owner Derrick Hayes.

“As an entrepreneur and community leader, I pride myself on being a Black-owned business operator and serving my community,” Hayes said in a statement. “This is a repeating, unfortunate event but I will not let this stop me or the success of my restaurant.”
