Police are searching for a woman suspected of passing stolen and forged checks in the metro Atlanta area for more than $32,000.

Athens-Clarke County officials released photos of the woman they say cashed the checks at locations in Buford, Dacula, Norcross, Kennesaw, Woodstock, Douglasville, Conyers and Covington. The checks and a driver’s license were taken from a purse stolen out of a car in Clarke just days earlier, authorities said.

The purse was stolen from a car in Southeast Clarke Park on Jan. 31, police said. The suspect began cashing the checks two days later, between Wednesday and Thursday of last week, according to authorities.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Detective Nathaniel Franco at 762-400-7100 or at Nathaniel.Franco@accgov.com.
