An off-duty Atlanta police officer was shot while working downtown security early Sunday, authorities said.
Several officers were working an off-duty job in the 200 block of Courtland Street in the Hotel District at around 1:40 a.m. when they heard an exchange of gunfire nearby.
They responded and one of the officers, who was not publicly identified, was shot in the arm, police said. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in a police vehicle and is expected to make a full recovery. No other injuries were reported.

“Right now he’s surrounded by family and friends, and he’s in good condition,” police said.
Authorities said several people were being questioned by investigators at police headquarters. No arrests have been made.

None of the officers returned fire during the incident, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
