A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was killed and her husband was injured in a Christmas Day shooting in Walton County, authorities said.

Monroe police responded just after 6 p.m. to a home in the 400 block of Maple Way, located a short distance from U.S. 78. When officers arrived, they found Tyeisha Colley, 35, dead at the scene. Her husband, Jermaul Colley, 41, had also been shot. Police have not released information on the severity of his injuries.

Late Wednesday night, police arrested 21-year-old Devin Sullivan at an apartment in the 600 block of Plaza Trace, about two miles away, officials said. Sullivan, of Monroe, was then booked into the Walton County Jail on charges of murder and aggravated assault, according to online records. Police said other charges are pending.

A motive is unclear and authorities have not shared how Sullivan knew the victims. Anyone with more information is asked to call the department at 943-227-4515 or 678-522-1236.
