Two people had to be rushed to the hospital early Saturday morning after a vehicle they were in rolled over a barrier wall on the Buford Spring Connector and landed on I-75, according to police.

The single-vehicle crash happened shortly before 4 a.m. A news release from Atlanta police said the victims were riding along Buford Highway when their vehicle left the road, careened over a hedge dividing the connector road from I-75 and rolled onto the northbound lanes of the interstate before the Northside Drive exit.

The driver and passenger had to be taken to the hospital and their injuries were serious enough that police couldn’t interview them Saturday, the release said.

It was not clear exactly what led to the crash, which police continue to investigate.

The crash blocked four lanes of traffic and caused minor delays on I-75 for about an hour, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
