A bystander was killed Monday evening in a shooting in a southwest Atlanta townhouse subdivision.

Officers responded to a home in the Notting Hill at Arlington community around 6:30 p.m. for a shooting call, Atlanta police said in a news release. At the scene, officers found a man who was pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

He was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as Tabius Arnold, 31, of Atlanta.

While it is not clear what led to the fatal shooting, Atlanta police said Arnold was not the intended target and was believed to be a bystander. One person was detained at the scene, but no arrests have been made in the case, police said Tuesday.

Homicide investigators have not released any further details.
