Police arrested six people Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery at a Spalding County pharmacy, authorities said.

Officers responded to Bowen’s Pharmacy in the 1300 block of Experiment Street after receiving a call about the robbery, Griffin police said in a news release.

Officers were able to determine the getaway vehicle and tag number while at the scene. As police began to drive to the house associated with the vehicle’s registration, they happened to spot the suspect’s vehicle, the release said. They initiated a traffic stop and arrested the driver, 19-year-old Marquez Kenon of McDonough.

Surveillance video from the pharmacy provided investigators other leads, which led them to five additional suspects, all of whom are 20 years or younger.

The other suspects arrested were: Shamir Johnson, 18, of Hampton; Devontae Slaton, 18, of Jonesboro; Ethan McIntyre, 20, of Theodore, Alabama; Tory Wooten, 17, of Griffin; and Christopher Rogers, 20, of McDonough.

All of the suspects were booked into the Spalding County Jail on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I controlled substance and violating the state’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, the release said.

Henry County police helped with the investigation, and the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office assisted with serving the the warrants.
