A 19-year-old man from Stone Mountain was hit and killed by a vehicle in Gwinnett County on Sunday night, authorities said.

Fredrick Ward was walking eastbound on Manor Drive near Major Court about 7 p.m. when he was hit by a 2010 Honda Odyssey, which was driven by a 69-year-old Stone Mountain man, according to a Gwinnett police incident report. The Odyssey was also traveling eastbound on Manor Drive.

Ward was in the roadway when he was hit, run over and dragged by the vehicle, the report said. The driver told police he did not see Ward before striking him.

Ward died at the scene. Police have not filed charges in this incident, which is why AJC.com is not identifying the Odyssey’s driver.

An investigation is ongoing.
