A woman is accused of breaking into a 91-year-old man’s home in Buckhead, forcing his caregiver into a bathroom at knifepoint and stealing jewelry.

The robbery took place Thursday night in the 3000 block of Randall Mill Road, according to the Atlanta police incident report obtained by AJC.com.

Bonnie Ferguson, the man’s caregiver, said she heard the front door open around 9:25 p.m., the report said. She then saw a woman in a black hoodie with a mask on her face walk into the room.

The suspect carried a 12-inch knife, and she motioned for Ferguson to go into the bathroom before closing the door behind her, the report said.

After about five minutes, Ferguson said she heard a vehicle leave the driveway, so she left the bathroom to find drawers pulled out from a dresser, the report said. A gold watch band was the only thing reported stolen.

The man told police he couldn’t identify the suspect, and the woman never touched or spoke to him during the robbery.

Police said the suspect used a key that was hidden in the bushes near the front door under a fake rock to enter the home, which Ferguson said only employees would know the location to, the report said.

An investigation is ongoing.
