A Coffee County woman is accused of hitting her ex-husband’s truck, trying to run over another woman and threatening to kill her with a hammer.

Sherry Dorenne Moore Thomas, 50, was at Daniel Lanier Thomas’s home when she crashed her white Honda into his truck — while he was in the vehicle, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Sherry Thomas attempted to run over the other woman, identified by the sheriff’s office as Paula Diana McGouyrk, as she tried to leave the home to avoid any problems, officials said.

The sheriff’s office arrived to find Daniel Thomas with injuries to his nose from an earlier altercation with another relative.

Daniel Thomas, who has a temporary protective order against his ex-wife, told police Sherry Thomas did not have a license, according to the release. Thomas was gone by the time police arrived, but was found at another home.

She was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license with no insurance.

Thomas was in jail the Coffee County jail with no bond.
