A customer pulled a gun on an employee at the drive-thru window of a McDonough Wendy’s on Saturday, according to police.
Henry County police are still searching for the woman, who is seen on surveillance video aiming the handgun at a cashier at the fast-food chain’s Jonesboro Road location about 11:15 p.m.
The cashier told Channel 2 Action News the woman was upset that she had to wait for her card to be approved and asked for a refund. After opening her door to get her card back, the woman can be seen on the store’s surveillance video cocking the weapon and aiming it at the Wendy’s employee. The incident lasted only a few seconds before the woman drove off in a black Nissan Altima.
The cashier told the news station there were four children inside the car at the time.
Saturday night’s dispute isn’t the first fast-food altercation to make headlines in metro Atlanta in recent weeks.
Late last month, a woman was permanently banned from a Covington McDonald’s after arguing with store employees about how long it would take to cook an apple pie, police said.
According to a police report, the 42-year-old became irate after being told she would have to wait several minutes for her dessert, got out of her car and confronted the store’s manager with her fists clenched.
The woman was charged with disorderly conduct and booked into the Newton County jail, records show. Police said if she returns to the McDonald’s, she’ll be arrested on trespassing charges.
