The suspect and victim in a deadly shooting outside a metro Atlanta motel have been identified.

Lorenzo Gordon is accused of killing Mario Molden, both of Jonesboro, at The Woods Motel in the 7800 block of Main Street, Clayton County police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said in a statement Monday.

Molden, 34, was found dead outside the motel when police responded to a fight that escalated about 8 p.m. Friday, Marbury said.

Officers were initially advised that a woman shot the victim, but surveillance footage in the area revealed the shooter was a man. When officers realized Gordon was still at the motel, they arrested him, Marbury said.

Gordon, 50, faces charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
