Two arrested, six dropped at fast food joint

BROOKVILLE – Not one of the six remaining passengers in a vehicle just stopped in the area of Arlington Road and Interstate 70 for a minor traffic violation on a late Saturday afternoon had a valid driver’s License to transport anyone home in the vehicle, which had Indiana registration.

Two of the original group of eight were arrested and taken to jail. One was the owner of the vehicle, who was in the front passenger seat, wanted on a Butler County warrant on a theft charge.

The other was one was in a back seat who yelled that the officer was stupid, then slurred him racially.

Trying to quiet him didn’t work, leading to his arrest for disorderly conduct.

A tow truck was summoned for the vehicle, and the remaining six passengers were given a courtesy ride by Brookville and Perry Twp. police to a nearby fast food restaurant, where the original driver of the vehicle was cited for driving without a license.

It wasn’t home, but it was a place to eat and go to the bathroom.
