Georgia Department of Natural Resources officials are seeking information about a turkey hunter being shot in Middle Georgia.

About 7 p.m. Sunday, a hunter in the River Bend Wildlife Management Area in Laurens County was standing over a turkey he had shot when he was hit by four shot pellets, according to a Facebook post.

After he was shot, the man yelled out and then saw a person at a distance moving away from the location, officials said.

The victim said he didn’t see anyone else parked in the area, according to the post. There are no suspects or vehicle descriptions.

Laurens County is about 135 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.
