A political bumper sticker is being blamed for a heated argument between two Georgia men Sunday afternoon.

James Stachowiak of Martinez, a Donald Trump supporter, told authorities he was in his vehicle at a Circle K gas station in Columbia County, near Augusta, when a man began cursing about Trump from his car window.

The expletive-laden rant reportedly ended with “Go Hillary!”

Witnesses said the men continued to argue before Stachowiak told the Clinton supporter he would defend himself with his weapon if he came near him. According to the police report, the Trump supporter’s rant ended with a derogatory comment about African-Americans.

The Clinton supporter, Jordan Carter of Augusta, told police that Stachowiak put his hand on his weapon but did not remove it from its holster, according to the report.

Witnesses told authorities the men threatened to shoot each other, though both men denied the claims.

Due to conflicting statements, sheriff’s deputies gave the men a verbal warning and advised them of the pre-warrant process.
