Three men were sentenced to spend the rest of their life in prison for shooting and killing a man who was celebrating his cousin’s birthday at a Henry County club, authorities said.
Colton Jerrod Sims, 30, Jalon Dante Edwards, 29, and Monte Glover Jr., 29, were all convicted Friday of several felonies, including malice murder, the Henry County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release. They were accused of the shooting that killed 31-year-old Decoby Barlow on Dec. 9, 2018, AJC.com previously reported.

Barlow was shot by a stray bullet in the parking lot of Traxx Lounge and Grill off Ga. 155 about 2 a.m. He was there celebrating his cousin Leshaeldrick Stafford’s birthday.
“I did not invite my family out for somebody to get killed,” Stafford previously told Channel 2 Action News. “I saw him die right in front of me. Man, that’s the worst thing I ever been through in my life.”
Stafford said Barlow was getting in a car when three men opened fire outside the building, killing him. The club, which has since permanently closed, had several bullet holes in the wall near the entrance from the incident.
The DA’s Office said the gunfire was the result of a fight that broke out inside the club and spilled outside into the parking lot. Barlow was not involved in the altercation.
Edwards and Sims were arrested later that month, while Glover was taken into custody in Clayton County in February 2019. Glover was arrested near Osbourne Court, where police seized about 11½ ounces of marijuana, scales and a handgun.

A jury found each of the suspects guilty on counts of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and firearm possession charges. Glover and Sims were also convicted of a count of possessing a firearm by a conviction felon, the DA’s Office said.
Judge Brian J. Amero sentenced Glover and Sims to life in prison plus 10 years, while Edwards was sentenced to life in prison plus five years.
