A trio accused of taking 29 bronze vases from grave sites of babies and veterans was being held without bond in the Walton County jail Tuesday night.

Marissa Dawn Savage, Brian Keith Hicks and Samantha Diane Mathis were each charged with two counts of theft by taking for allegedly stealing the vases from the Hill Haven Cemetery, according to a Walton County Sheriff's Office report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Savage was also charged with one count of theft by deception, jail records show.

The three suspects were arrested earlier this month after allegedly trying to sell the vases as scrap metal, according to police.

On Feb. 28, the cemetery's owner called the sheriff's office to report that more than two dozens vases were missing from graves in a section for babies, as well as an area where veterans are buried, the incident report states. The vases are valued at $500 apiece.

Some family members of those buried in the cemetery also reported the thefts to police.
