A teenager fell asleep while driving and knocked down two power lines in Hogansville, police said.

An 18-year-old teenager fell asleep while driving in Hogansville Saturday morning and accidentally knocked down two power lines, authorities said.

However, he has an excuse. He was fishing all night, according to Hogansville police.

East Main Street from Cooper Avenue to Lincoln Street was closed to traffic for about four hours as police cleared the scene, police told Channel 2 Action News. Hogansville is in Troup County, which is southwest of Atlanta.

The teen is OK and only suffered a few scrapes, police said.
