Two teenagers were injured and one was killed in a shooting at a "prom-related all-ages party" in South Georgia early Sunday morning, the Valdosta Daily Times reported.

Around 12:50 a.m., Adel police responded to gunfire at The Stage at 105 West First Street, where a large crowd was fleeing the area, the GBI said in a news release. More than 100 shots were fired, the newspaper reported.

Authorities told the Daily Times the group consisted of at least 300 people, some as young as 12. They came from several counties, including Berrien, Colquitt, Cook, Lowndes and Tift.

Deshone Pierce, 19, was found in the parking lot with a gunshot wound, the GBI said. Emmanuel Whitehead, 18, was found seriously injured at a nearby convenience store, and a minor was later found with a gunshot wound.

Whitehead was pronounced dead at South Georgia Medical Center, and the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon will perform an autopsy, the release said. He had recently finished training as a National Guardsman, the Daily Times reported.

Pierce was taken to the same hospital before being moved to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., the release said. His condition was not provided.

The juvenile victim’s injury was minor, and the teen was treated and released from a hospital.

Authorities told the Daily Times they haven’t identified any persons of interest or suspects. However, authorities believe there was more than one shooter, and the incident appears gang-related. No other details were provided.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Adel police at 229-896-2224 or the GBI at 912-389-4103.
