A teenager was charged with vehicular homicide Thursday in a “jump the car” accident that left a 16-year-old dead, according to a media report.
The teen, whose name has not been released, also faces reckless driving and violation of provisional license in connection with Kobe Thomas' death, the Rome News-Tribune reported.
Thomas died Sunday after he was struck by a car allegedly driven by the teen. Thomas was playing “jump the car” with a group of friends when the incident happened. The game involves jumping over a car as someone drives toward you.
Thomas was a student and standout basketball player at Model High School after transferring from Pepperell High. A vigil was held for him Monday.
A full police report is expected to be complete Friday.
